On Thursday, so many lives were changed forever when Jesse Santiago Pagan was tragically taken from us in a senseless act of violence at his home. Jesse was only 36 years old and leaves behind a heartbroken family, including his loving partner, Brittany Bender, and their beautiful 2-month-old daughter, Jayleen.
Born on July 16, 1989, in Long Beach, California, Jesse later made his home in Montrose, Colorado, where he built a life centered around family and love. Jesse was the kind of person whose smile could light up a room and whose laughter was impossible not to join in with. He had a caring heart, a strong spirit, and a presence that was unforgettable.
Jesse loved fishing every chance he got, whether it was day or night. He was a father of three—two sons and his precious baby girl, Jayleen. He was especially excited to welcome his first daughter into the world. He spent countless hours preparing her nursery himself, refusing help because creating that special space for her was his project and a labor of love.
Jesse stood firmly by his beliefs and fiercely protected those he loved. If Jesse stood beside you, you knew you had someone loyal in your corner. His family and friends will remember him for his strength, his generosity, his infectious smile, his humor, and the love he poured into those around him.
We are raising funds to help Brittany and his family during this unimaginable time, as well as to assist with funeral, cremation, and memorial expenses and the many unexpected financial burdens that come with such a devastating loss. Any contribution, no matter the size, is deeply appreciated. If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this fundraiser and keeping Jesse's family in your thoughts and prayers.
Thank you for helping us honor Jesse's memory and support the family he loved so dearly.
