Jerome (Jerry) Scanlan was a well-loved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to many throughout his full 74 years of life. He is survived by his beloved wife Liz Scanlan… children, Joe & Kristin Scanlan, Chris & Joy Scanlan, Mike & Amber Scanlan, Katie & Michael Mais, Jennifer Kurz, Chris Kurz… and his grandchildren, Elliana, Jaeden & Brooke, Nolan & Violette, Nathan, Jacob, Grace, Kylie & Kenzie.

He was co-owner to the Lake Zurich JJ Twigs for over 20 years & undoubtedly touched many lives and families over the decades with his generosity & amazing food. He has been fighting various health issues over the years and lost his battle today. We are comforted to know he is in peace and not in pain anymore… still, this is an unexpected loss, we thought he had many more years with him.

Him & his wife Liz celebrated over 30 years of marriage and blended together a beautiful family that we all love & cherish. He passed away just shy of his 75th birthday, which is February 11th. We are all grieving and want to celebrate his life & respect his end of life wishes. With that being said, this was unexpected and the cost is overwhelming. Our family would be greatly appreciative of any donation you are able and willing to make, to help my Mom (temporarily closing the business during this difficult time is financially straining, as it’s her only income and she needs time to grieve her husband & figure out how to move forward) & family off set some of this cost and give him the send off he truly deserves. To anyone who knew Jerry, he was always kind, giving, loving, lighthearted, most definitely the funniest guy in the room and the amount of love & dedication he had for his family showed in every action he made in his lifetime. We miss him more than words can convey… it still doesn’t seem real.
