Honoring Jerry Paiz: Maestro of Hair & Sage to many

Davis has lost a most beloved friend and community family member.

Jerry Paiz, owner of the Style Lounge, passed into God's heavenly Kingdom on April 10, 2025.

After suffering a major hemorrhagic stroke, Kaiser Vacaville and their medical team honored Jerry's living wishes of passing peacefully after being non-responsive. The Kaiser staff were exceptional caretakers and welcomed Jerry as family. His legacy and love of service to others will move on per his wishes to be an organ donor. Doctors confirmed two patients in critical need in Northern California were on standby for a healthy kidney and liver transplant. The transfer teams had the patients prepped at their respective hospitals ready to receive Jerry’s gift of life.

He was surrounded by ones he loved who shared prayers, love, and funny stories as he transitioned peacefully without pain into the eternal realm.

This fundraiser will support the logistical costs of returning Jerry’s body to the earth, preparations for a Celebration of Life held in Davis in the coming weeks, and transition expenses for Christine Hoffmann (Jerry's long-time friend and business partner) as she takes on sole ownership of Style Lounge at 227 E St. Jerry’s business was a place of fellowship, laughter, and community, and it will continue on for all that Jerry touched.

Any remaining funds will be donated to programs that support the unhoused population of Davis. Jerry was a friend and light to many local residents, including a Sunday outreach program supporting those in need of food and shelter.
