In Loving Memory of Jerome “Stump” Monroe
I’m going to miss you, Daddy. I found you on Facebook in 2019 when I was 52 years old. The first time we spoke on the phone, you called me “baby,” and in that moment, the empty space I had always felt in my heart was filled with love. It gave me a peace I never imagined I would feel.
Jerome “Stump” Monroe was Sweet Inspirations’ drummer who was the opening act for Elvis Presley’s concerts and shows. Jerome played nearly every one of Elvis’s shows and filled in as Elvis’ drummer a handful of times over the years. According to those who knew him, he was a part of Elvis’s extended family on and off the stage. Stump has also played behind some of the greats like Wilson Pickett, Martha Reeves and The Vandellas, Gladys Knight and The Pips and Ricky Nelson to name a few.
Stump loved sharing his stories and memories with friends, family and devoted fans.
My Dad left behind a wonderful, loyal wife who is also elderly. I am trying to get their home packed up, pay off debt, and relocate her to a senior citizen community to ensure she has a better quality of life now that her lifelong partner is gone. All donations will go to his wife.
Thank You in advance for supporting this effort.
