Hi, my name is Joseph Backs, and I am starting this fundraiser to support my wife, Aletheia Backs, after the heartbreaking loss of her father, Jeff Stiles, who passed away on February 10, 2026.

Aletheia is a stay-at-home mother of five and truly the glue that keeps our household together. As she navigates this difficult time, I am reaching out to our community to help ease the financial burden of Jeff's services and final expenses, allowing her to focus on honoring his memory.

Jeff was a loving father, a devoted grandfather, and a beacon of light to his community and friends. He was a remarkable photographer, poet, artist, and writer who never shied away from expressing his creativity. Most importantly, Jeff was a faithful disciple of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ; his unwavering faith was an inspiration to everyone who knew him.

In recent years, Jeff battled a brain injury that impaired his balance and his ability to articulate his thoughts. Although he visibly struggled at times to finish a sentence, his determination and kind soul helped him persevere far beyond expectations.

Our family is devastated by this sudden loss. We are extremely grateful for the community he was a part of, especially his church family at Madison Heights Baptist Church. Any contribution, no matter the size, will help us provide the farewell Jeff deserves.
