My name is Chase Reinford, and I am organizing this fundraiser on behalf of JeanJaques wife, Katie Wallis.

On November 25th, we lost JeanJacques “JJ” in a tragic speed flying accident in Cape Town. JJ was not just a friend to me. He was family. A brother. Someone whose passion, warmth, and presence changed every person who knew him. He had an unmeasurable amount of love to give, and he did.

And right beside him for the last 12 years was Katie.

Katie is one of the most loving, supportive, and kind people I have ever known. She stood with JJ through every dream he chased. She supported him, believed in him, and helped build the life they shared in South Africa. Their bond was deep. They shared a special type of love, the kind you see only in the movies. JJ was Katie’s world and vice versa

JJ was the primary provider of their home. Katie devoted herself to supporting him and the work they did together. Now, with JJ gone, she is facing a level of heartbreak, shock, and uncertainty that no one should ever have to endure alone. She not only lost the love of her life, but also the stability and security they built together.

Katie didn’t ask me to do this. She is grieving with a depth that’s hard to even put into words, trying to breathe through each day in a life that has been shattered .. I am creating this because I love her, because she is like family to me, and because I know how many people loved JJ and would want to support her during the hardest season of her life.

All funds raised will go directly to Katie to help with basic living needs, to give her space to grieve without financial panic, and to help her begin to rebuild her life at her own pace.
