My name is Shakenya, and I’m writing this with a heavy heart to share that my father, JDL (Jerome Wilson), passed away on March 21, 2026.

JDL (Jerome Wilson) was a member of the legendary Cold Crush Brothers, a group that played a major role in shaping the early days of hip-hop and influencing generations to come. His voice, his presence, and his contribution to music and history will never be forgotten.

Since November, he had been in the hospital fighting for his life. Our family/friends stood by him every step of the way, hoping and praying for his recovery. He fought hard until the very end.

This loss has been deeply painful for our family, and we are still trying to process everything. As we navigate this difficult time, we are asking for support to give him the homegoing he truly deserves.

We are hoping to raise $17,000 to help cover funeral expenses and to create a meaningful celebration of life that reflects not only who he was to us, but also the impact he had on the culture and community.
