Jason Schmidt, a 41-year-old husband and father of three, was killed in a bike accident on Friday, February 27th, while surrounded by his adventure racing community, a competitive sport that he found great joy in. A lover of travel, high endurance pursuits, and feeling part of something big, Jason brought an energetic optimism into every space he inhabited. He was an affectionate dad, husband, brother, uncle, friend and son, never missing an opportunity to tell people how much they meant to him. A charismatic dreamer, visionary, and lifelong seeker of new and uncharted experiences, Jason lived fully and without fear. It is impossible to detail all of the roles that Jason played in the lives of the ones that he loved because his spirit is too big to be bound by words.
In his great absence, we invite you to contribute to the future adventures of his wife, Liz, and children, Eleanor, Harrison and Samuel, whatever path their lives may take. Jason's proudest achievement was his family, and knowing that they can live life freely without restraint would bring him the greatest peace.
"So sing and dance and laugh and cry and scream, and make some noise so he can hear us right now.” -Dave Grohl
