Jan fought a long and courageous battle against kidney and heart disease, always holding onto the hope of a transplant. Despite the physical toll his health took on him, Jan was a man who built a vast community of friends who truly became his chosen family. It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of his passing. Jan passed away at home, and while his many friends were not by his side at that final moment, we are determined to make sure he is not alone in his final rest.
Jan leaves behind no children and no immediate family except for his beloved mother, who is over 90 years old. As Jan was her primary focus and he had been struggling with his health for so long, there are no funds accessible or set aside for his final arrangements. We are coming together as his friends to provide Jan with the dignified funeral he deserves and to ensure his elderly mother is supported during this impossible time.
