The Syracuse University Parking and Transportation team unexpectedly lost a valued member of their team this past week.
Jamie Jefferson Jackson, 58, passed away Sunday, September 22nd. Jamie was born and raised in Torrington, CT and graduated from Onondaga Community College in Syracuse, NY with an Associate's Degree in Hotel Management.
Jamie was active duty in military service, which consisted of working on a medical supply ship for the Navy and then he served in the Army. Jamie worked at Syracuse University for 20+ years.
He was a wonderful son, a beloved husband, a fantastic father, a devoted veteran, a terrific brother, a great friend, a kind uncle, a good outdoorsman, a strong record keeper, and an avid sports fan. He made our lives richer and fuller. Jamie will forever be remembered by his most is his contagious laugh.
Jamie is survived by sons, Ryan Jackson age 27, Jordan Jackson age 26, and daughter, Nya Jackson age 19; brothers, Rodney (age 60) and Derek (age 50). Jamie is predeceased by his parents, Thomas Jefferson Jackson and Virginia Dallas Jackson; and his beloved wife, Natalie Jackson.
