In Loving Memory of Jamie Michelle Gleaton

On December 10, 2025, our family lost an extraordinary woman. Jamie Michelle Gleaton, age 53, passed away peacefully at Wake Medical Center, surrounded by those who loved her most.

Jamie lived boldly and loved fiercely. She dedicated over 27 years of her life to serving others as a social worker, advocating tirelessly for the vulnerable and voiceless through her work with the Department of Social Services and the Department of Aging. Her compassion, strength, and quiet commitment changed countless lives, often without recognition.

Above all, Jamie was a devoted mother. Her children were her greatest joy, and she poured her heart into loving and supporting them. She cherished family vacations; especially near the water, where she felt most at peace and treasured simple moments at home cuddling her beloved puppies.

Jamie also had a rare gift for humor. Her quick wit, playful spirit, and contagious laughter could lighten even the heaviest moments. She reminded everyone around her that even in difficult times, joy was still possible.

While hearts are broken by her passing, faith brings comfort in knowing that God saw her suffering and gently called her home. Jamie is now at peace in heaven, free from pain and resting in God’s care, with the promise that loved ones will be reunited again.

Jamie is survived by her husband, Jeff Gleaton; her sons, Shawn Gleaton of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Braxton Gleaton of Asheville, NC; her daughter, Kendall Gleaton, of the home; her mother, Patricia Coan of Lillington; and many cherished friends.
