Honoring Jamia’s Life and Legacy

With heavy hearts, we share the loss of our beloved mom, Jamia, who passed away peacefully on January 19th at the age of 57. After a courageous two-week battle in the ICU against pneumonia that turned into sepsis, her body could no longer fight, and she went peacefully and painlessly.

Our mom was a one-of-a-kind person who made everyone feel special. She was the mom whose house all the kids wanted to go to growing up. She threw the best parties and created unforgettable memories for us with her creativity and thoughtfulness. She had a gift for making life magical, no matter how difficult her circumstances might have been.

Mom loved giving back to her community, whether it was feeding the homeless, volunteering at the local food bank, or lending a helping hand to anyone in need. She never asked for anything for herself and always gave selflessly to those around her. She gave her all to everyone else, often leaving nothing for herself, but that’s just who she was—someone whose heart was filled with love and generosity.

We are working hard to give her the beautiful send-off she deserves and honor her life the way she lived it—with love, joy, and creativity.
