On December 1st, 2025, I lost my father, James Michael Maher. Writing these words still doesn’t feel real. My dad wasn’t just a father—he was one of the most loving, big-hearted, genuinely good people you could ever meet. He had this way of making a room lighter just by walking into it. He was a natural comedian, always cracking jokes, always trying to make someone smile, even on the worst days. His heart was bigger than anything life ever threw at him. He loved deeply, he gave freely, and he showed up for people even when he didn’t have much to give. Losing him has left a hole in our family that words can’t describe.
