Dear Friends and Family,

It is with a heavy heart my sisters and I announce the unexpected passing of our father, James Day Hamilton. Our dedicated father was a hard-working, loyal, servant of Christ. He truly cared for all of those around him and shared his contagious smile and laughter with everyone he encountered. He lived his life with humor, grace, and honor, deeply loving his three daughters—Stephanie, April, and Mary—and his wife, Lima. His last few hours were spent reassuring his family that everything would be okay, painting on a smile and singing the Indiana Jones songs to us (he loved those movies and we watched them countless times with him as children). This is truly the kind of man he was; even in his last hours he ignored his own suffering to protect the ones he loved. We are so grateful for the care he received at Antelope Valley Medical Center and how they loved on him up until the very end. In true "daddy" fashion, he melted all their hearts, gave them tons of laughs as well as tears when we lost him. He left this earth smiling and bringing joy and sunshine to everyone around him.
