My name is Miranda Brown. I'm doing this GoFundMe for my mom, Brenda Blaylock.

My dad, James Blaylock, touched the lives of many. We've heard a lot of stories. When he was still able, he loved to sit outside and wave at people when they went by. He was a wonderful dad and grandpa.

He was diagnosed with dementia several years ago but had a fall in September, and his mental and physical health started getting worse almost weekly. About a week before his passing, we took him to the ER with pain in his leg, which ended up being a blood clot. They did emergency surgery to try and fix it, but they found it had been that way for a while. They couldn't remove enough of the plaque buildup in the arteries to really get blood flow back in his leg. He was sent home with hospice. He passed away on February 6th. He told us he was ready to go home; he was tired. We know he's in heaven and no longer confused or in pain, but he is missed so much. Things just aren't the same.

We are asking for donations to help with medical bills, funeral costs, headstone costs, and monthly bills. My mom stayed out of work so she could be with him. We were blessed by several family and friends for her to be able to do that. My parents have always worked so hard to make sure we had what we needed. I'm doing this to help my mom try to get caught up and take some of the financial worry off her.
