James (Jim, JB) Black passed away suddenly on Sunday, July 26, leaving his family and friends heartbroken.
Born in Chicago, he was a Vietnam veteran who served his country with honor. He was also an unbelievable photographer, capturing moments that told powerful stories. He was also part of the first local Black television news staff in the 1970s. His contributions to media and the arts made a lasting impact, and he was cherished by everyone who knew him.
James was a beloved member of the Waxhaw community, always ready to lend a hand or share his wisdom. His warmth, creativity, and dedication inspired those around him, and his legacy will live on through the lives he touched.
As we navigate this difficult time, we are raising funds to help cover funeral costs and memorial services, easing the financial burden on his family. We appreciate any support you can offer to help us honor James's memory and give him the farewell he deserves. Your kindness and generosity mean so much to our family, and we are grateful for your help during this time.
