My name is Melissa Lagoo, and I’ m setting this up for my dear Sister-in-Law Leslie Lagoo Lopez, my brother-in-law Ruben and my nephew, their son Lucas.
Five years ago, their oldest son Jake Schine was diagnosed with a rare cancer. He spent time in and out of treatments the first few years. Then, this past year, he was diagnosed with yet another type of rare cancer. It is now with a saddened heart that I share, on December 30th, he lost his battle after a very long and hard fight. As you can imagine, we are all completely devastated.
My hope is that these donations, would help lessen their financial and medical burdens during this very hard time. It would also help them with his Celebration of Life, which will be held June, 13 2026.
Jake was a gentle, kind and loving soul. He truly loved his family and his fur baby Kiki with all his heart . Jake loved to make us all laugh. He had a wonderful sense of humor, was a great listener, brought so much light into the lives of those close to him. His friends have all told us how thoughtful he was and how he brought so much happiness into their lives.
Jake had so much passion for life and enjoyed the Chicago Cubs, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Chicago Bulls and all things Taylor Swift! He was an avid gamer as he played with many friends across the world. He was a foodie and he would eat at all sorts of restaurants and fast-food places. Jake was also a collector of all sorts of things, such as; vintage toys, sports memorabilia and AEW/WWE Wrestling. He loved to play basketball, biking, spending time outdoors and having special family time watching Marvel movies, going on vacations and having fun at amusement parks riding roller coasters.
Another of Jake’s loves was spending quality time with his brother, and best friend, Lucas. They loved gaming, watching movies, attending wrestling events and concerts together. They were very close and just loved bonding over all of these fun things.
We all love you so much Jake and know we will see you again someday. Until then, we know you'll always be watching over us as our guardian angel.
