On May 9th, 2026, (mother’s day) we lost a beloved family member: Jaivias Shandice Wilson. He was sweet, caring, and a true protector. Every Mother’s Day, I’m reminded that my fiancé was taken from me, and his mother will never forget that her son died on Mother’s Day. It’s a tragedy that could have been avoided in so many ways. It’s unfair to his daughter, who is only two years old and won’t have memories of the father who loved her so much.
Jaivias wasn’t just my fiancé; he was a son, brother, uncle, father, cousin, nephew, and grandson. He did not deserve this. All he wanted was to provide for the family he loved so deeply, and someone took it upon themselves to take him away from us simply because they didn’t want to wait for an order. It’s heartbreaking that he couldn’t even go to work without having to defend himself against two men who pulled up on him with guns.
He was only 23 years old, with so much life left to live. A beautiful soul gone far too soon. He cared for everyone around him, he would’ve given you the shirt off his back if you needed it. Our family is so traumatized by this situation.
Even just a share or a prayer helps more than you know.
