Hello everyone, my name is Raina Barredo, and I am organizing and sharing this GoFundMe on behalf of the Viernes family and Izzy's loving parents, Jasmin and Merv.

As many of us know, the Viernes family is in a season of grief. This GoFundMe is being created to help support the family during this devastating time. The funds raised will go toward medical expenses, funeral and memorial costs, and easing the financial burden that has come with years of caring for a medically fragile child, allowing the family the space to grieve and honor her memory.

With heavy hearts, the Viernes family shares the loss of their beautiful daughter, Ezra aka “Izzy”, who passed away on January 6, 2026. She was just 5 years old. From the moment she was born, she faced an incredible battle after being diagnosed with hypoplastic left heart syndrome, a rare and complex congenital heart defect. Despite everything she endured—surgeries, hospital stays, procedures, and countless appointments—she fought with a strength and bravery far beyond her years.

Izzy was more than her diagnosis. She was full of love, light, and a smile that could brighten any room. She touched the lives of everyone who met her and taught us what true courage, resilience, and unconditional love look like. Though her life was far too short, her impact will last forever. Thank you for honoring our precious Izzy girl.
