Our family is heartbroken by the tragic and unexpected passing of our beloved Isamar and her partner Carlos. As we navigate this devastating loss, we are coming together to honor Isamar's life, celebrate her legacy, and ensure she receives the loving farewell she deserves.

We are asking for support to help cover unexpected funeral and memorial expenses, including the possibility of transporting Isamar from Northern California to San Diego, the community she called home, so that her family, friends, and loved ones can gather to say their final goodbyes. During this incredibly difficult time, any contribution will help ease the financial burden on our family and allow us to focus on grieving, remembering, and honoring Isamar.

Any contribution, no matter the amount, would mean so much to our family. If you are unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser with your friends, family, and community would also be a tremendous help. We are deeply grateful for every donation, every share, and every kind word as we navigate this unimaginable loss.

Isamar was born and raised in Barrio Logan, San Diego, alongside her two sisters, Dia and Alejandra, and her mother, Clara. Growing up in a community rich in culture, resilience, and tradition helped shape the person she became. Her roots were an important part of who she was, and her connection to her community remained a guiding force throughout her life.

As a young mother to Fabian, her son, (now 14), Isamar demonstrated incredible determination and perseverance. She continued pursuing her education while raising her son, refusing to let life's challenges stand in the way of her goals. She attended Lindsay Community School, where she earned her high school diploma, and went on to San Diego City College, graduating with a degree in Chicano Studies. Her passion for learning and her commitment to making a difference led her to San Diego State University, where she earned both her bachelor's and master's degrees in Psychology and Social Work.

For Isamar, education was a way to empower herself, uplift others, and give back to the community that helped shape her. She understood the importance of having someone who listens, believes in you, and reminds you that your circumstances do not define your future. That belief was reflected in her work and service. Isamar completed her social work internship at Lindsay School, returning to a place that had been part of her own educational journey to support some of the most vulnerable young women and families in our communities. Her work reflected her deep compassion, her understanding of the challenges young people face, and her desire to help others recognize their own strength and potential.

Even while balancing her education, professional responsibilities, and the joys and challenges of raising her son, Isamar continued to give her time and energy to causes she believed in. She dedicated her time and energy to volunteering with the Association of Raza Educators and Unión del Barrio, two organizations rooted in the fight for educational equity, community empowerment, cultural pride, and self-determination. Through her involvement, Isamar stood in solidarity with her community and the ongoing struggle for justice, dignity, and liberation for our people. Her commitment reflected her deep belief that education is a tool for empowerment, that our communities deserve to thrive, and that we each have a responsibility to fight for the world our communities deserve.

Isamar's life reflected the values of perseverance, service, and solidarity. She understood that giving back meant showing up for others, standing alongside her community, and helping create opportunities for the next generation. She carried the spirit of Barrio Logan with her and worked toward a future where young people, especially those who are often overlooked or underserved, could be supported, empowered, and given the opportunity to thrive.

Above all, Isamar was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, partner and family member. Her passing leaves an unimaginable void in the lives of those who loved her. While our hearts are broken, we will continue to carry her memory, honor her accomplishments, and remember the impact she made on the people and community around her.

As we come together to lay Isamar to rest, we ask for your support in helping our family bring her home to San Diego and give her the farewell she deserves. Your generosity will help us navigate these unexpected expenses during a time of profound grief.

Thank you for keeping Isamar, her son Fabian, her partner Carlos, her mother Clara, her sisters Dia and Alejandra, and our entire family in your thoughts. Every donation, share, and expression of support reminds us that we are not alone in this difficult time.

We are forever grateful for the love and support you have shown our family as we honor Isamar’s life, her legacy, and the love she leaves behind.
