I am creating this fundraiser for my sister, Jeannie, and our family during the most heartbreaking moment of our lives. We are devastated by the sudden and tragic loss of her beloved son and our cherished nephew, Isaac Elijah Rios.

In the quiet, early hours of Sunday morning on September 6th, 2026, what should have been a simple night out having dinner with his friends at Vons turned into a mother’s worst nightmare. Isaac and his friend were confronted at gunpoint by three people attempting to rob Isaac. In those terrifying moments, Isaac and his friend were shot and left to die, all while being filmed. Isaac was found on the sidewalk, bleeding and fighting for his life, and rushed to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition. Despite every effort to save him, he did not survive.

Isaac was only 20 years old. He was supposed to turn 21 on October 10th, a milestone he was excited for and one his mother was already preparing to celebrate. Instead, that day will now be honored as a tribute to his life, a gathering where his loved ones will come together to celebrate the joy, love, and light he brought into this world.

Isaac had plans, dreams, and a future he was building with so much pride. A 2024 graduate of Lake Stevens High School, Isaac was not only a football player, he was a football champion, known for his heart, his drive, and the way he lifted up his teammates. He worked as an electrician at Boeing and on his spare time, could fix just about anything with an engine.

Isaac also had a love for adventure. He felt alive on the slopes, skiing with that easy confidence that made everyone else smile. He was never afraid of a challenge. He took on double black diamond runs with the same fearless determination he carried in every part of his life. He loved exploring new places, trying out the best restaurants, and spending time with his family. Those were his happiest moments.

Isaac was the kind of young man who showed up for people. Kind, loving, gentle, and full of life. He was a son, a brother, a nephew, a cousin, and a friend who made everyone around him feel seen and encouraged. The bond he shared with his mother, Jeannie, was something rare and beautiful. He was her light, her joy, her biggest cheerleader.

Our family is shattered. The emptiness Isaac leaves behind is something words will never fully capture. His future was bright, his heart was huge, and his life was taken far too soon. We are not only grieving, we are angry. Angry that his life was stolen. Angry that he was taken from us in such a cruel and senseless way. Angry that we are living with a pain no family should ever have to endure.

This fundraiser was created to help his mother, Jeannie, Isaacs siblings, and our family with funeral arrangements, memorial services, and the many unexpected expenses that come with such an unimaginable loss. Jeannie will not be returning to work for an unforeseen amount of time, as the weight of losing her son has made it impossible for her to resume daily life.
