On February 27, 2026, my life was shattered. My 14-year-old daughter, Ikeria Jones, was tragically taken from me in an accident involving an IndyGo bus on the east side of Indianapolis. Ikeria was not just a headline. She was my baby. She was bold but sweet, beautiful inside and out, and an amazing big sister to her six brothers and sisters. She was a natural athlete and the funniest person in the room, with a smile that filled any space and a presence you felt instantly. Ikeria protected her siblings, loved hard, and lived fully every day.
In the middle of our grief, we have also had to endure incorrect public information about my daughter. Ikeria was only 14 years old. She was a child. She mattered. And she deserves to be remembered for who she truly was—not by rumors or mistakes. As a single mother of seven, I have always done everything I can to provide for my children without asking for help. This is one of the hardest things I have ever had to do. But laying my daughter to rest and continuing to care for her brothers and sisters during this devastating time is more than I can carry alone.
Funds raised will go toward funeral and burial expenses, memorial arrangements to honor Ikeria properly, household bills and day-to-day living expenses, and allowing me the time I need to grieve without immediate financial pressure. If you are able to give, any amount is deeply appreciated. If you cannot give, please share this page and keep our family in your prayers. Thank you for helping me honor my daughter’s life and legacy. She will always be my bold, beautiful girl. — Natisha Jones
