We are seeking donations to honor our beloved Hoagie and to support his family during this incredibly difficult time. Proceeds will be used for Hoagie’s funeral and Celebration of Life, with any remaining funds going directly to the UMD Hoagie Men’s Hockey Scholarship, established in 2006 in his honor.

Hoagie passed away on February 17 after suffering a stroke on Christmas Day. For 44 years, he faithfully served UMD Men’s Hockey, and later UMD Athletics and the Duluth Huskies, becoming a constant presence in the program and a cherished member of the Duluth community. He was known for his kindness, loyalty, humor, and the genuine joy he brought into every room. He had a rare ability to make people feel seen, valued, and loved.

Hoagie gave his heart to this program and this community. Now we have the opportunity to give back, to celebrate his life, support his family, and ensure that his legacy continues through the scholarship that bears his name. Thank you for honoring a man who meant so much to so many.
