Honoring Heph: Join Us for a Celebration of Life
Donation protected
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Stephen Hephaestus Adams, affectionately known as Heph, on September 9th, 2024. Heph was a bright spark in the lives of those who knew him, leaving an indelible mark on family and friends alike. On March 8th, which would have been his birthday, we invite all who loved him to gather in the city he cherished so deeply—San Francisco—to celebrate his whimsical spirit and adventurous life. Following a Celebration of Life at Noisebridge, Heph’s ashes will be scattered in the bay, a final tribute to a life lived with passion and creativity.
Heph was more than a friend; he was a collector of interesting souls, bringing together fellow makers, doers, performers, and artists who became family. His curiosity was boundless; he never met a tree he didn't want to climb or a costume party he didn't want to attend. Beneath his complex and sometimes troubled exterior lay a heart that was easy to love, and he is dearly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him. In honoring his memory, we encourage everyone to embrace life as Heph did: climb a tree, create art, or simply gaze at the stars. Let us keep his spirit alive in the adventures we pursue and the connections we forge. Rest in peace, dear Heph; your light will continue to shine brightly in our hearts.
Many of us met Heph for the first time at Noisebridge, so it is an honor to be able to come together with so many of his friends here again. All are invited to an open-house gathering on March 8th, 2025, from 2 pm-4 pm with photos, music, and a potluck. Come as you are! Feel free to bring something to eat or drink to share if it will bring you joy. Most importantly, we want you there to celebrate Heph with us. There will be time to share your favorite Heph stories and memories.
Money raised will help with the final expenses of laying Heph to rest in the Bay. More information will be shared by private invitation for all who would like to witness Heph's final hurrah. Let's send him out the way he came into so many of our lives, with a glorious, sparkly bang.
Any excess funds raised will benefit Noisebridge and the MADE, two nonprofits that meant a lot to Heph.
This fundraiser is being managed by:
Kim Cook - Heph's sister; Rebecca Adams - Heph's former wife; Gerard Dumuk, Rachel McConnell, and Shannon Lee - Heph's dear friends.
