Honoring Harvey Blackwelder: Support His Family

Donation protected
Harvey Blackwelder was an exceptional man and a wonderful example of a loving husband and great father. Everyone who knew him loved him, and he served his community for the majority of his life. My name is Lily Cody, and I am Zachary Cody’s wife. Zachary was Harvey Blackwelder's stepson, but he always treated Zac as his own son. Harvey Blackwelder was 78 years old when he lost his hard fight against cancer and Parkinson’s Disease on Saturday, March 29th. He served in the military in the Vietnam War, and when he came home, he served 30 plus years as a paramedic and Captain of the Davidson County EMS. He also served as the Chief of the Davidson County Rescue Squad and was a member for 48 years. He continued to serve even after he retired. He has 3 sons: Brent, Chad, and Zac. He has 8 grandchildren and was married to Lauren Blackwelder for 23 years. I wanted to set up a GoFundMe to help his wife Lauren and the family pay for funeral expenses and such things as his headstone, flowers and other expenses as Lauren only had a small life insurance policy.
