On March 26, 2026, we lost Greg Westhoff, a man who was truly larger than life.
Greg was a gifted musician, a passionate teacher, and someone who shared his love of music with everyone around him. Whether he was in a classroom, performing, or simply spending time with loved ones, Greg brought energy, warmth, and joy into every space he entered. Music wasn’t just something he did, it was who he was. His impact will live on through the countless lives he touched.
Outside of music, Greg found his greatest peace and happiness on the water. He loved fishing, not just for the catch, but for the stillness, the connection to nature, and the time spent with those he loved. Some of the most meaningful moments he shared with family and friends were out on the water, doing something that brought him pure joy.
Above all else, Greg was deeply devoted to his family. He shared a beautiful 42-year marriage with his wife, Jean, and was a loving and proud father to his daughters, Emilie and Shana. His family was his greatest joy and the center of his world.
Over the past few years, Greg faced significant health challenges, undergoing dialysis as he battled kidney failure. Through it all, he showed incredible strength, resilience, and the same spirit that defined his life.
As Jean and her family navigate this unimaginable loss, they are also facing significant and unexpected expenses and a new financial reality. In addition to medical expenses, Jean managed the arrangements to bring Greg home from Florida to Connecticut, where he was laid to rest on April 2, surrounded by the love of his family. She is now adjusting to life without Greg and the financial stability they built together over more than four decades.
We are starting this GoFundMe to support Jean during this incredibly difficult time, to help ease the financial burdens and give her the space to grieve, heal, and begin to find her footing again.
If you are able to give, no matter the amount, it would mean so much. And if you’re not in a position to contribute, sharing this page is equally appreciated.
Most importantly, we ask that you keep Jean, Emilie, and Shana in your thoughts during this time.
On behalf of those who love the Westhoff family, thank you for your support, your kindness, and for helping us honor Greg’s life and legacy.
