Honoring Gordon and Helping Mickey Snyder

My brother Gordon K Travers died tragically on May 26, 2019 from undifferentiated carcinoma, just two weeks after his 68th birthday. He was diagnosed three weeks earlier and given every expectation that he could live, and hopefully work, another two years.
I promised Gordon that I would not tell our Mom, Miriam "Mickey" Snyder age ninety-three, about his cancer diagnosis or that he was actively dying. She suffers from dementia, perseverates, and Gordon feared the news would kill her. I've honored his wishes and I'm keeping my promise.
I brought our Mom home to live with me in October2018. Her retirement funds were rapidly diminishing in the assisted living community near Gordon where she resided for two years. We believed she could happily and comfortably live out her remaining days at home. It was with the caveat that I would hire adequate aides for in-home care a few days a week. When her savings ran dry Gordon began sending funds monthly to cover the expenses. Then he died. I had to let the aides go.
I'm starting this Go Fund Me campaign to help raise money for our Mom.
This is a huge heartbreaking disaster for me. I work part-time and have my own neurological health issues to contend with. I simply do not have the financial resources or the energy to manage this alone.
To those of you who have known Mickey in her lifetime in Newburgh --through her relationship with Temple Beth Jacob, or her role at the center of a loving extended Travers-Snyder family--I'm reaching out to ask that you contribute anything you can to help me make her life more comfortable and my ability to care for her possible.
I manage my grief by reminding myself it is filled with love. Every contribution helps. Your generosity is a powerful force.
Please, however, respect our wishes to keep from her the news of Gordon's illness and passing.
