Our hearts are shattered as we share the devastating news that Giana Dettloff was tragically taken from us in Sunday morning's mass shooting at Illinois Wesleyan University. Anyone who knew Giana knows she was a confident, joyful, and beautiful light. She brought so much energy and happiness into every room she walked into, and her absence leaves a void that can never be filled.

There are no words to describe the pain of losing a child, especially under such heartbreaking and unimaginable circumstances. A parent should never have to say goodbye to their daughter this way. Brothers should never lose their little sister. And no 19-year-old should lose their life to gun violence. Our dear friends are facing the most difficult moment of their life, and we want to surround them with the love, support, and compassion they so desperately need.
