Hello, my name is Lexi, and I’m fundraising on behalf of my best friend, Max Black, whose mother, Gerri Black, tragically passed away in a devastating house fire early in the morning on December 04, 2025. The fire broke out around 6 a.m. while Gerri was at home with her son, Michael. Firefighters worked bravely in freezing, icy conditions, but despite their efforts, Gerri did not survive.

Michael was able to escape and seek help, but he suffered severe smoke inhalation and third-degree burns and has been transferred to a burn center for treatment.

This sudden loss has left the family heartbroken and overwhelmed. On top of their grief, they are now faced with unexpected funeral expenses and additional financial burdens.
