Honoring German Diaz: A Meaningful Farewell

It is with deep sadness that the Diaz family announces the death of the beloved German “Herman” Diaz on May 4th, 2025. German had spent his last days surrounded by those he loved, and those who loved him, sharing in memory and prayer. German is survived by his loving and doting wife, Catalina Diaz, and their three children: Jennifer Diaz, Jon Diaz, and Joseph Diaz, and their precious grandchildren: Julian Diaz and Aiden Blanks.

German was a dedicated builder who spent countless hours and years honing his craft. He was known for using creative and unique tricks to fix even the most complex repairs. It can easily be said that this effort was matched in how he engaged with his family, somehow always providing his children and grandchildren with laughter and smiles. He may not have been a man of many words at times, but he always knew when the mood needed a lift. It is with fondness that Mrs. Diaz recalls times when German would serenade her and the children, stating, “he didn’t have the voice, but man... that heart”.

For the past ten years, German struggled with multiple health ailments that required numerous hospitalizations and surgeries. German’s wife and children were dedicated to his care and treatment throughout. In the past two years, Mrs. Diaz has had to step down to part-time work to be German’s primary caregiver. This has led to significant financial struggles with mounting medical bills and home care costs.

Since his death, there have been many stories shared of phone calls and visits with German seeking his help and advice. He was known for his friendly demeanor and willingness to roll up his sleeves and find a solution. At this time, we are asking our family, friends, and community to assist with the costs of funeral expenses and to help his wife and children provide German with a memorial matching his memory.
