Honoring Gerald Pareja: A Heroic OFW Finally at Rest
It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Gerald Pareja.
Gerald was the definition of a selfless provider. For over 10 years, he worked as an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) in Abu Dhabi, sacrificing his own comforts and enduring years away from his homeland to provide for his family in the Philippines. He worked tirelessly, never once returning home during that decade, always putting his loved ones first.
Tragically, two years ago, that journey was cut short. While biking to work, Gerald was struck by a vehicle. The accident left him with severe brain damage, paralyzed and dependent on a feeding tube.
Through immense effort, Gerald was finally flown back to the Philippines—not for the joyful reunion he had earned, but for a long road of medical care. For the past two years, he has been tenderly cared for at home by his mother and sister, who became his full-time nurses and anchors. Today, Gerald finally found peace.

Gerald spent ten years sending everything he had home. Now, we want to bring his journey to a dignified and beautiful conclusion. As we mourn his loss, the financial weight of funeral arrangements and the mounting costs from his long-term care are significant.
