Honoring George's Generosity and Legacy

Dear Friends, Family, and our Community,
We are saddened to say that George Maxwell Tucker passed away on Friday October 25, 2024. To some he was known as Grumper, and if you knew him well you know he was never grumpy.
George leaves behind his many amazing family members from all around the world.
His daughter Brenda and grandchildren Jennifer and Matthew miss him dearly and the house is much too quiet without his presence. His kitties, Rocky and Pepper. The dogs Isla and Brody that he fattened up, with lots of bones throughout the day.
George was a notable person wearing his hat donned with the many different wampum pins he made . He kept with him at all times different types of wooden toy cars and trucks he had made to hand out to children. He also donated the handmade toys to Chicken Alley and the Montessori School.
You could find him sitting in Oak Bluffs @ the post office square or in front of Leslie's chatting with locals and tourists. Back a few years he was feeding the birds, hanging with friends and helping the ladies at Humphrey's. George accumulated many friends over the years on the Vineyard.
He loved making his wampum jewelry and handing the pieces out to those he knew and even people he met along the way. He didn't care where you were from, or what you looked like, he loved meeting people and exchanging stories. His unwavering dedication to making people smile made him so special. He was also never one to shy away from cracking a joke. George enjoyed talking with fellow creatives and wouldn't hesitate to share what he knew.
During this difficult time, I want to help provide support to ease some of the financial burdens and secure a brighter future for his daughter, grandkids and the pets that he left behind.
Many individuals have asked how they can support the family, so I have set up this GoFundMe to help with his funeral expenses and other necessary financial issues that were left to his daughter Brenda. The last time I saw George he gave me a wampum heart and it meant a lot to me because I collect heart shaped items. I strongly believe helping them is something we should do because of George's blessings and all the joy and happiness he brought to those he knew and met along the way. Thank you Laura Bryant German! (This fundraiser was created/suggested by myself, Laura, and Jennifer (George's granddaughter) helped me upload the photo, story and get the page created so the funds went to the family directly and not myself.)
