My father, Georges Aguehounde, born in Tori-Bossito, Benin, built a life marked by resilience, faith, and service. After an accident on his birthday in 1990 left him paralyzed from the waist down, he pressed forward—earning two master’s degrees and dedicating his career to the D.C. Center for Independent Living, helping neighbors with disabilities live with dignity and independence.
On September 5, 2025, he transitioned peacefully, in the company of his mother-in-law, his son, and his wife. Your support will help us lay him to rest with care and cover immediate obligations during this time.
Peace + Love
Georges “Bijoux” Aguehounde
