George Metropoulos designed and built fantastic amps with a meticulous sense of detail.
A passionate artist, who - and this is by far not hyperbolic - dedicated a significant part of his life to the amp business. I only met him once and he struck me as an amazing personality with the heart in the right place.
Learning through his posts that he has to close his shop after 25 years, while dealing with health and financial challenges made me both sad and upset. We often talk about how manufacturing jobs have disappeared, and he gave decades of his life to his craft and our small industry on top of providing jobs for people.
As a fellow amp designer, I wanted to organize this fundraiser so the community that benefited from George's and his team's work has a chance to support him as he begins a new chapter. One that i hope will fulfill him as much as the last.
And to you directly George, I deeply respect and admire what you did for our small industry, for all of us and our passion and I wish you nothing but the very best for your future.
