Honoring George Huston: Support His Last Wishes
Donation protected
On January 31st, we lost my brother George Huston. He was fighting a long battle with so many different health issues for the last month at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. We truly thought he was going to make it home; he was making so much improvement. Doctors even discussed discharging him soon, but unfortunately, they found additional internal issues that led him into cardiac arrest, where his heart gave up, and he lost his fight.
My mom, sister, and I are setting up arrangements for cremation, which is what he talked about wanting long ago. He never wanted a funeral and just wanted everyone to gather and celebrate his life. He said something to the effect of, “Of course people would cry and be sad 'cause I’m George, but fuck a funeral! Do something fun, have a fucking party. Remember the good shit!”
We did not anticipate losing our brother or my mom losing her only son. I've called George's accounts to see if he had life insurance for himself, but unfortunately he does not.
If you would be willing to make a donation towards my brother's last wishes and to help fund the postponed summer celebration of life for my brother, we would be forever grateful! My brother loved the outdoors, and he loved to fish, so this summer we would like to have a large potluck/BBQ at a local park like Millersylvania, where we grew up fishing as kids. More concrete details will come as the summer nears.
Thank you all for keeping our family in your prayers, for praying for George, and enjoying the presence and memories that my brother brought to your lives. He was an amazing, kind-hearted man who loved everyone and would do anything he could for anyone. He cared for others more than he cared for himself.
We lost an amazing soul, but he's with us ❤️
We love & miss you, Georgie. So much ❤️
