On Monday, June 15, 2026, our dear friend Nakisha tragically lost her beloved daughter, Genelle.

Anyone who knows Nakisha knows how much she cherishes and adores Genelle; she constantly celebrated her accomplishments and made sure the world knew all the amazing things her baby girl could and would do. Genelle recently graduated from Talented and Gifted Magnet high school and was awarded a full-ride scholarship and book scholarship to Hampton University where she was going to major in computer science before her life was tragically cut short.

Dealing with such a profound loss is not easy and will take time. It’s even harder to do as a single mother while preparing for arrangements and the future.

Knowing this, we ask that you keep Nakisha and her family in your thoughts and prayers at this time.

We are also asking during this difficult time for contributions to help cover the cost of laying Genelle to rest as well as to cover any outstanding medical bills and financial obligations.
