Hello, my name is Jessica Jansen, and I am Fred's daughter. Unfortunately, over the course of the month, my father has been diagnosed with Stage IV cancer, which is not treatable. He has gone from hospital to hospital, and eventually to hospice.

My concerns are to make sure he is comfortable and has everything he needs. I am looking to raise funds for his cremation, as those were his final wishes. It is incredibly difficult for me to ask for help in this way, but the outpouring of love and support from his sober and church community has been nonstop. I have been through my grandparent's deaths and my mother's death in the past 4 years, and I did not have this support during them. It has been phenomenal to see all of the love that the community has for my dad.

My father did not have any life insurance plans, and very little funds. He is a man who likes to make the most of the moment, usually by surrounding himself with good people and telling ornery jokes. My dad also struggled with sickness throughout his life, and April 23, 2021, he took his first day of sobriety. He has gone on to be almost 5 years sober, which is an incredibly difficult feat. I went to his graduation from the program on November 16th, 2021, and I can remember speaking at the event and saying, "Thank you for giving me my dad back."

Ultimately, I just want to ensure that he is taken care of. The funds will be used to cover his cremation, purchase urns, and possibly smaller urns as there are many that wanted some of his ashes.
