My name is Tabitha Russell, and I created this GoFundMe on behalf of Lauren Homan for her son, Frederick Angelo Carapel.
Our hearts are shattered as we announce the unexpected passing of Frederick Angelo Carpael on January 26th, 2026. Freddie was only 32 years old, a life that burned bright but was taken from us far too soon.
To know Freddie was to love him. A true Las Vegas native, born and raised, he had a spirit that was as free as it was kind. Most people first noticed his gorgeous, soulful eyes, but it was his heart that kept you there.
Freddie’s life was anchored by the people he loved. He was a proud grandson, uncle, son, and brother. Most of all, he was a devoted fiancé to his soulmate, Cherish. They were excitedly planning to be married this coming spring, looking forward to a lifetime of happiness together. His passing leaves behind a future that was beginning to unfold.
For over 21 years, I have been a part of this family’s journey. Together, we have walked through the darkest of valleys, including the tragic losses of my own biological brothers, Daniel and David. Freddie was incredibly close to them, and his presence was often the glue that held us together during those times.
A Life of Passion and Resilience
As a kid, Freddie was a force of nature on wheels. He was phenomenal in the BMX world and was beginning to make his way into the motocross syndicate when a devastating car accident brought those dreams to a sudden halt. Despite that heartbreak, Freddie’s intelligence and drive never wavered. He was a fighter, recently channeling his energy into getting started in real estate, always working to build a future for himself and his family.
A Devoted Grandson and Son
One of the things I remember most about Freddie was the profound love he had for his grandfather—a retired Air Force Colonel who served at Nellis AFB for many years. When his grandfather passed away just last year, it left a massive void in Freddie’s life. Now, as his mother Lauren faces the unthinkable task of saying goodbye to her son, she is doing so while still reeling from the loss of her father.
How You Can Help
The financial weight of an unexpected passing is a burden no grieving mother should have to carry alone. Because of the recent losses the family has endured, the funds simply aren't there to cover the costs of Freddie’s cremation and final arrangements.
We are asking for your help to give Freddie the dignified farewell he deserves. No donation is too small, and every dollar goes directly toward supporting Lauren as she navigates this nightmare.
Freddie was one of my favorite people in the entire world. Please help us honor the memory of a man who was family to so many.
