Honoring Fred Mock & Support Fund for Mock Family

We are heartbroken and saddened to inform you of the passing of our dear colleague and friend, Dr. Fred Mock.
Our community suffered a terrible loss when he passed away on Wednesday, April 28th, 2021. Fred will always be remembered for his generous and giving heart and his dedication to pharmacy. Words cannot describe the impact that he had on many of us, as he was a father figure, a trusted friend, and a close colleague.
Fred started his career at St. Vincent Hospital as a pharmacy intern, continued to work as a clinical pharmacist upon graduating from USC in 1981, and later served as an interim director. While at St. Vincent, he developed lifelong friendships with many of his colleagues and met the love of his life—his wife Stacy.
Fred was a clinical pharmacist at Huntington Hospital for the past 15 years and loved mentoring pharmacy students. Just last year, he was honored as the “Most Knowledgeable Preceptor” by USC. Everyone at Huntington Hospital considered him family—he treated everyone with abundance of love, care, and respect.
Throughout his pharmacy career, Fred was an active member of SGVSHP and had a positive impact on many members and students. He held many positions as a board member for SGVSHP throughout the years and was serving his second term as a delegate this year.
Fred is survived by his wife Stacy and his three daughters Kelly, Katie, and Kristi. Katie is currently attending the USC School of Pharmacy and will be carrying on Fred’s legacy as a pharmacist.
We ask that in remembrance of Fred, reach out to show your love to those who are nearest and dearest to your heart--your friends, your family, and your loved ones.
Please also join us in raising funds to help Fred’s family during this difficult time.
