Fred Ader, my beloved husband, passed away on July 11 after battling ALS for over six years. Fred was a lifelong Dodger fan, and his love for Hawaii and its traditions was a big part of our family’s story. He dedicated himself to his family and also spent many years coaching girls volleyball, sharing his passion and encouragement with young athletes. To honor his memory, we are planning a trip to Hawaii for a traditional paddle out ceremony, a celebration of life gathering at the beach, and to attend a Dodger game, something he cherished deeply. For Fred, Dodger Stadium was truly "blue heaven on earth," and this journey will bring together all of Fred’s family in Hawaii, giving us a chance to celebrate his life in a way that reflects his passions and spirit. The majority of Fred's family is in Hawaii, making this gathering especially meaningful.
The funds raised will help cover the costs of renting a van to drive our family members to Los Angeles, purchasing tickets to fly from LA to Hawaii, and securing a five-night stay in an Airbnb. Your support will make it possible for us to gather, remember Fred, and give him the tribute he deserves.
In lieu of flowers, we would greatly appreciate any financial contributions, airline miles, or travel vouchers. Your generosity will help us bring Fred’s family together in Hawaii to celebrate his life and legacy. Thank you for considering a gift to support this special journey.
