Instead of flowers or other donations, we invite you to honor his memory in a more lasting way - by helping restore the coastal lands he loved.
Francisco cherished the great outdoors, especially the wild beauty of South Texas. His love for the land and its wildlife was central to who he was. To honor his legacy, we are raising funds to restore and protect coastal prairie and wetland habitats at the Laguna Atascosa National Wildlife Refuge—a place that reflects his deep appreciation for nature and commitment to conservation.
Where Your Donation Will Go
Your contributions will directly support Friends of Laguna Atascosa and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service in their mission to restore and protect this refuge.
- Restore former farmland into native coastal prairie
- Protect new growth with tree plantings and habitat restoration
- Plant native thorn forest seedlings to rebuild critical habitat
- ️Install tree protector tubes to safeguard young trees
These efforts revive critical wildlife habitat and ensure long-term conservation for future generations.
Laguna Atascosa is home to some of the most diverse and threatened wildlife in Texas, including ocelots, migratory birds, and coastal species that depend on these lands. As natural habitats face increasing pressures, conservation efforts like this are increasingly critical to protecting these fragile ecosystems.
Join Us in His Legacy
If you are unable to contribute financially, sharing this campaign with others who care about conservation is just as impactful.
We are grateful beyond words for your support, love, and generosity during this time. We visited the restoration efforts this week and look forward to sharing updates and pictures on how your contributions are making an impact.
