Honoring former Officer Tom Diebold

In honor of former Officer Tom Diebold who is currently in hospice care at home.  Some of you may not know him because he started here in the department in 1975 and retired in 1995. During his time here at the St. Petersburg Police Department, he spent time in Vice and Narcotics and the Intelligence Unit, and then went on to spend the next 20 years at the State Attorney's office. He has made many lifelong friends here, and my family is forever grateful. My father, Timothy Brown, started here at this department in 1987 and retired in 2018. During his time here, he was a Field Training Officer, a burglary detective, and what he was most known for, an auto theft detective. I have been blessed to have started at this agency in 2022, following in the footsteps of my grandfather and father. Tom has raised an extraordinary family. He has raised three sons in law enforcement and a city manager for Pinellas Park. He has given every part of himself to this family, and I know he will continue to when he's gone. I am so proud to be his granddaughter and I will live every day in his honor. My family is currently working on funeral costs and any little help goes a long way. Forever family here at St. Pete.
