Honoring Falkor & Help Getting Home While Stranded
Falkor — our beloved dog, mine and Seth’s — passed away suddenly and far too young. He would have been two years old December 3rd. His loss has been heartbreaking, and it has unfolded during a time when I am currently stranded in California, far from home in Florida, trying to grieve while also staying afloat.
At the time Falkor passed, I was unable to return home due to my van breaking down weeks earlier. Multiple incorrect parts were sent during attempted repairs, and once the holidays arrived, services shut down entirely. This left me unable to return to Florida for work I had lined up to cover bills and rent, placing us in a difficult position while navigating this loss.
Falkor entered my life during the hardest chapter I’ve ever faced — the years I spent in a wheelchair. When I felt the most alone, isolated, and uncertain, he brought me joy, comfort, compassion, emotional grounding, and mental stability when I needed it most. He helped me survive that period.
He was a rare and beautiful White Swiss Shepherd with approximately 20% wolf heritage — bubbly, silly, goofy, magical, and absolutely adorably sweet. Falkor lived a full and joyful life, traveling from Texas to Florida, visiting ranches, farms, wide open lands, beautiful festival properties, and natural spaces. He was deeply loved by our fire spinning and festival communities, and I am forever grateful for the love and support shown to him and to us. These communities keep me going to this day.
Falkor was almost fully service-trained and had completed extensive obedience training. He was a phenomenal support animal during my recovery and a steady presence for many others.
Falkor’s passing was the result of a tragic accident. Seth was outside with him at the time when Falkor managed to unlock the gate, ran after cats, and was struck by a vehicle. He was loved, supervised, and cared for every moment — the accident happened in an instant.
Expense Breakdown (Total Goal: $5,000):
• $1,700 Emergency veterinary expenses
• $2,400 Compassionate preparation expenses
• $900 Remaining rent shortfall
Any contribution, share, or kind message truly means the world. Thank you for honoring Falkor and supporting us during this time.
