Dear Friends and Family,
Meet Ezekiel, a brave two-year-old boy who has been fighting against all odds since the day he was born. He was born with a rare form of a spinal deformity that roughly effects 1% of our population. Because the condition is so rare Neurosurgeons and Professors immediately entered him into studies and began to create his skeleton for surgery one day. They suggested that him walking, talking and getting to this point is nothing short of a miracle.
We have always expected a High Risk surgery would be necessary. Doctors hoped that it would be at age 5 or 6 but last Saturday his body decided otherwise. He lost feeling in his leg and was admitted to Stanford where he would be rushed into an emergency Cervical and Thoracic Spinal surgery to reconstruct his spine starting C1.
Once the surgery is complete he will be in ICU and the estimated recovery time is 3 months if everything goes well.
Despite all these challenges, Ezekiel remains a joyful and resilient child. As he prepares for this life-changing surgery we want to show him and his mother our unwavering support. The road to recovery will be long, but we believe that with love and community behind him, Ezekiel will come out stronger than ever.
Your donations to this GoFundMe campaign will directly support Ezekiel's mother with living expenses so she can focus on nursing Ezekiel back to health. Anything left over will go towards his first recovery celebration which we are hoping will be his 3rd birthday celebration.
Join us in honoring Ezekiel's courage and resilience. Every contribution, no matter how small, will make a difference in his life. If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this link but more importantly keeping him in your prayers.
With Love
Team Ezekiel
