Honoring Evelio Fernandez’s Memory
Donation protected
Evelio Fernandez was a kind, loving, and caring gentleman who dedicated his life to his family and his career. Born on January 25, 1981, Evelio began his service with the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, graduating from the Academy in March 2003. He started his career at CIM as a Correctional Officer in October 2003, was promoted to Sergeant in November 2014, and then to Lieutenant in November 2019, where he remained until his untimely passing. Evelio was passionate about his work, but his greatest joy came from spending time with his family. He loved cheering for the Raiders, attending Dodgers games, and was always on the sidelines supporting his son Noah at Gators football games. He was just as enthusiastic cheering on his daughter Layla with her Gators cheer team, always proud to see her perform. Evelio made sure to be there for every moment, celebrating his children's achievements and creating lasting memories.
Evelio leaves behind his wife, Erin Fernandez, and his children: Andrew (26), Gavin (19), Noah (12), and Layla (8). He was a devoted husband and father who always put his family first in everything he did. Evelio’s life was cut short by terminal pancreatic cancer, a diagnosis that came suddenly and progressed quickly. His sudden passing has left a tremendous void in their lives, and they are now facing the unexpected challenge of covering funeral expenses. The loss came so quickly that there was no time to prepare financially, making this time even more difficult for his loved ones.
We are deeply grateful for every message, call, and act of kindness from friends, family, and the community. Your support means the world to us as we navigate this heartbreaking time. Any contribution, no matter the size, will help us honor Evelio’s memory and give him the farewell he deserves. Thank you for standing with us and for keeping Evelio and his family in your thoughts.
