Erika’s passing was sudden, tragic, and something no family can ever truly prepare for. During this heartbreaking time, the Maes family is facing unexpected medical expenses, along with the significant cost of funeral services to honor Erika’s life the way she deserves.

Erika and her husband, Richard Maes, shared a beautiful love story that began when they were only 17. Together, they built a life rooted in devotion, laughter, and unwavering support. They raised three incredible children—Rich, Alex, and Sophia—and their family grew even more when their eldest son, Rich, married Lucia and blessed them with three precious grandsons.

Anyone who knew Erika knows she had a gift for caring for others. She helped raise not only her own children and grandchildren, but all the children in the extended family. She had a way of making everyone feel loved, safe, and supported. Her absence leaves an immeasurable void in all our lives.

As difficult as it is, the family has decided to reach out to loved ones, friends, and anyone touched by Erika’s kindness.
