In Loving Memory of a Beloved Husband, Captain, and Friend Erik Johansen.

We are heartbroken to share that we lost a truly special man — a loving husband, devoted stepfather, proud grandfather, and loyal friend to so many.

Our beloved Erik was a sport fishing boat captain who found peace and joy on the open water. From sunrise to sunset, the sea was his home — a place where his laughter carried on the wind and his stories seemed to stretch as far as the horizon.

Before his days on the water, Erik was a wrestler — strong in both body and spirit. He brought that same determination and heart to every part of his life. Yet despite his strength, he was truly a big kid at heart. He loved to host family gatherings, fire up his smoker, and fill the yard with the smell of good barbecue and the sound of laughter.

He was the proud dog dad of two golden retrievers who adored him as much as he adored them. But more than anything, he was a family man — a loving husband, stepfather to four wonderful sons, father-in-law to three amazing daughters, and proud “Papa” to two granddaughters and six granddogs. His greatest joy was being surrounded by those he loved most.

We are raising memorial funds to help honor Erik’s life and legacy. The donations will go toward memorial expenses, medical expenses, and helping our family celebrate his life in the way he deserves — with love, laughter, and a gathering that reflects the warmth he brought to everyone he met.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for keeping Erik’s spirit alive through your love and generosity. He will forever be remembered for his big heart, his easy smile, and the way he made everyone feel like family.

The Celebration of Life will be held at Gary Panoch Funeral Home which is located at 6140 N Federal Hwy, Boca Raton, FL 33487 on December 6, 2025 from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM.
