If you never had the pleasure of meeting E, I’d encourage you to watch the short documentaries Mott Haven and Byways for even just a glimpse of the soul we all came to love and know. As a founding member of the Hip Hop Therapy Studio, he helped get the program off the ground and served as a source of inspiration to so many over the past decade—particularly myself. His transparency, vulnerability, perseverance, and positivity transcended anything I’ve ever seen, and his heart will be with me forever. Though this is the smallest of gestures, I hope we can collectively thank his family for sharing such a wonderful light with the world by supporting them through this indescribably difficult time. No one should have to grapple with the expenses of death on top of its emotional devastation, so let’s do what we can to at least alleviate that part of the burden. Thank you all so much.
