We greatly appreciate any donations towards the memorial services and events to commemorate Elizabeth Alarid-West who has passed on having blessed us with 25 years of life with many beautiful memories.

Elizabeth will be missed by many friends and family. She is a mother to Kaladín. She is daughter to her late mother, Celena as well as Patrick and Marisol. She was a sister to Luzero and Benjamin. She is a granddaughter to Kit, Paula, Gloria, Bernardo and her late grandmother Renee. She is a neice to Jack, Cody, Luciana, Estella, Vanessa, Elizabeth, Michael, Marco, Selia, Cezar and has many other family connections primarily from her father's family (Velasquez/West) and mother's family (Alarid). She will also be greatly missed by the Flamenco community in Albuquerque and many friend from school, work, and all aspects of her life. She made friends every she went.

She was an accomplished musician, dancer, visual artist, composer, and excellent roller skater. She strove to artistically express her self in the greatest way possible with a desire to always to perfect her skills.

Lizy faced mental health challenges for most of her life which were most difficult for her the last years before her passing. She also struggled with substance abuse through this process. We as a family want to bring awareness to this issue that affects so many of all our families and community members through the events we are planning.

Lizy's wish is for her remains to be planted with a tree that would be planted in a beautiful mountain location. Thanks to her Alarid family we will use a company called Earth Funerals who will prepare her body through a composting process to be planted with an Aspen tree, the tree she wanted. This process takes 45 days. Once we receive her remains we will have a ceremony and reception at that time which will most likely in July. Further details will be updated as we know better when her remains will be returned to us.

In the meantime we are planning a family wake, a vigil and a memorial service in the near future. We will also update everyone with that event information as we find the best ways and places possible to celebrate her life.
