Honoring Efream: Help Ease His Family's Burden

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved brother, Efream (Werira) Kebreab Hizbay, on June 20, 2024, in Chicago.

Efream was a loving father, brother, uncle and friend to all. His smile and energy that brought light to everyone that came across him. Efream's love for Soccer was known to all who knew him. It was with this passion that he made many friends and creating everlasting memories while enjoying and doing what he loved most. Efrem leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and community. Efrem loved his family dearly and is survived by his wife and three wonderful children, Hermela, Finny, and Eliana. Efream final resting place will be in his homeland and the country he loves in Eritrea. In light of this sudden and untimely passing of our brother, we have established this GoFundMe campaign. Our goal is to collectively support and assist with the arrangements and associated costs and alleviate some of the burden on the family. We sincerely hope that many of Efream's friends from various places will join us in honoring his memory and ensuring his final journey is as dignified as he deserves.
